This post assumes that you have Chromecast connected to a TV and already set up. If not, see our guide on how to set up Chromecast on any platform. You will also need an Amazon Prime or Prime Video subscription.
1. Make sure to update the Amazon Prime Video app on your phone. The update that provided the ability to cast to Chromecast was available from July 9, 2019, on the Google Play Store.
2. When you open the app for the first time after the update, you will see a short introduction and how to start sending it from your phone.
3. You will now see a large cast icon in the lower-left corner of the screen.
4. Click the icon and select the Chromecast you want to connect to.
5. Now select the movie or TV show you want to watch and you will be able to enjoy it on TV.
6. Note that the cast icon is different from the "Watch" button that you might see under Video Selection. This button is for watching content on Fire TV. To connect to Chromecast, the button will be in the lower right corner of the screen.
