With a vast expanse and long history, China offers a lot to see and explore. We've listed the 10 best attractions to visit in China for any classic China tours.
1. The Great Wall of Beijing in Beijing
In the eyes of most travelers, you would not visit China if you did not climb the Great Wall of China.
The Great Wall is one of the tallest symbols in China, the tallest wall in the world, and is a stunning achievement of ancient defensive engineering. Its winding path over rugged country and sloping mountains takes some great views. It deserves its place among the "New Seven Wonders of the World" and the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in China.
The wall extends from the western border of China to the east coast, and is approximately 5,000 kilometers (3,100 mi) long, but the most complete and best preserved portions are close to Beijing. This is what people usually mean when they mention the Great Wall of China.
2 - Xi'an Clay Army - an underground army 2000 years old
The mud army has been in the ground for more than 2000 years. However, in 1974, farmers discovered drilling a well one of the world's greatest archaeological sites. In 1987 it became the World Cultural Heritage.
It matters because hundreds of detailed mockups represent the army that conquered all other Chinese armies in the Warring States period (475-221 BC), and who were the decisive factor in forming a united China. It raises interesting questions about the reason for its manufacture, which awaits your studies when you come face to face with the soldiers of the past.
3. The Forbidden City in Beijing - The Imperial Palace of 24 Emperors
It was previously a "palace town" where ordinary people were denied entry. Luxurious display of ancient Chinese architecture, over 8,000 rooms with elegantly designed gold ceilings painted in red and yellow.
The Forbidden City was the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties for 560 years until 1911. There were 24 emperors. The World Cultural Heritage, now known as the "Palace Museum" among the Chinese, is a treasure house of Chinese cultural and historical relics.
It is known as one of the five most important palaces in the world (with the Versailles Palace in France, Buckingham Palace in the United Kingdom, the White House in the United States, and the Kremlin in Russia).
4. The Bund in Shanghai - a stunning skyline, colonial architecture
The Bund is one of the most famous architectural symbols in Shanghai. It exposes the world with its European colonial buildings and skyscrapers on the other side of Huangpu, which includes one of the most important commercial areas in the world.
The Bund was the most prosperous region of Shanghai in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. When the first British company opened an office in Bond in 1846, it became an example of elegance.
5. Li River in Guilin - the most famous Chinese landscape
The karst landscape along the Li River captured the heart of the artists. Generations of Chinese painters and poets have been inspired by the beauty of nature there, using their pens and brushes to capture stunning landscapes.
Nowadays it is a popular destination for photography. When Chinese travelers search for a place of natural beauty, they first think about Li River and Yangshuo.
The 83 km section of the Li River between Guilin and Yangshuo is the most beautiful. The river landscape is decorated with stunning hills, steep slopes and farm villages, surrounded by bamboo groves.
The Li River has been listed as one of the "Top 10 Water Wonders of the World" by the American National Geographic magazine, and many world famous figures have visited the Li River, including former US Presidents Bill Clinton, George Bush (Senior), and Bill Gates.

The giant panda is not only very loved by the Chinese, but by many foreigners as well, not just children. Although there are many zoos in China and elsewhere where you can see a giant panda, the best place to see is Chengdu - the "birthplace" of the giant panda.
There are three places to see the panda in close proximity: Chengdu Panda Research and Education Center, Dujiangyan Panda Valley, and Bevengxia Panda Base.
The center of Chengdu Panda is located in the north of the city, and it is more established. The base of Bifengxia Panda is 2 hours from Chengdu, and contains more pandas, and you can see more pandas in their natural habitat. You can get closer to the panda by taking a volunteer program in Bifengxia or Dujiangyan Panda Valley, an hour outside Chengdu.
When most people go to China, they just want to see the Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City in Beijing, walk along the Bund in Shanghai or ride Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an.
